Disciplined Investment Process

Northleaf has developed and refined a rigorous five-step investment process for sourcing, evaluating, selecting, managing and exiting portfolio investments:

Origination and Initial Review

The Investment Team leverages its global industry network, and Northleaf's reputation and relationships, to generate a large number of attractive investment opportunities and to gain access to top-tier fund managers. The Investment Team proactively screens approximately 400 potential investments each year and annually conducts more than 250 meetings with management teams.

Due Diligence

The Investment Team performs a detailed analysis of each high-potential investment opportunity, including an evaluation of each fund manager's investment strategy and process, management team and track record, and competitive positioning.

Investment Decision, Documentation and Closing

During each multi-stage due diligence process, the Investment Team develops and refines a detailed investment recommendation and, upon approval by the Investment Committee, negotiates the terms and conditions of each investment.

Management and Monitoring

The Investment Team attends annual meetings, conducts quarterly portfolio reviews, carefully examines market trends and developments, and provides investors with regular, concise information regarding their investments.

Exit and Distributions

As required, the Investment Team determines an appropriate exit strategy for each investment. In general, the Funds seek to liquidate any securities received promptly upon receipt.
