Northleaf Capital Partners expands private credit team

Northleaf Capital Partners is pleased to announce the addition of three professionals to our growing private credit team. David Jeyes has joined Northleaf as a Senior Credit Officer in London and will participate in the firm’s global private credit investment activities. Brett Donner has joined as an Associate based in Northleaf’s Chicago office and will focus on the evaluation and monitoring of private credit investments in North America. Northleaf has also welcomed Joan Li as a Senior Manager in Toronto to focus on private credit finance and operations.

Prior to joining Northleaf, David was a senior executive leading and managing restructurings and turnarounds for companies and banks in Europe. David has more than 35 years of experience in the financial services industry, including as Head of International Corporate Credit at Barclays Bank and a voting member of the Barclays Group Credit Committee. David recently spent 18 months leading a team to support the restructuring of the Bank of Cyprus. David received a B.Sc. (Econometrics) from the University of Kent.

Brett was previously an Analyst on the Global Private Finance team at Barings where he structured, underwrote and executed senior, unitranche, second lien and mezzanine financing solutions across a number of industries. Previously, Brett was an Investment Banking Analyst in the Leveraged Finance Group at Wells Fargo Securities. Brett received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce (Magna Cum Laude) from the Driehaus College of Business at DePaul University.

Joan joins Northleaf from Canada Pension Plan Investment Board where she was a Manager, Investment Finance and led a team responsible for the accounting, valuation, operations and reporting of private credit investments. Previously, Joan was an Investment Service Analyst on the fixed income team at the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board. Joan received a Bachelor of Administrative Studies (Honours Accounting) from York University and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

The addition of David, Brett and Joan supports the ongoing growth of Northleaf’s private credit business. The private credit team now numbers 18 professionals across Northleaf’s Toronto, London, Chicago and New York offices.
