There are two positions currently available in Northleaf's Investor Operations group:

POSITION: Manager, Investor Operations
The Manager, Investor Operations will have responsibility for the reporting, accounting and operations functions of the Investor Operations group relating to the infrastructure investment program (the “Infrastructure Program”) administered by Northleaf. The Manager, Investor Operations will work closely with the financial reporting, operations, tax and systems groups within Investor Operations, and the Infrastructure Program Investment team, to provide support and information relating to investors’ financial, tax and other reports, as well as information relating to investments. The Manager, Investor Operations will also have a strong client service focus dedicated to ensuring best in class finance and operations support.

Accountabilities:
As part of the Investor Operations professional team within Northleaf, the Manager, Investor Operations will be a key “owner” of the following business functions for the Infrastructure Program:

  • Investment portfolio accounting and transaction management
  • Investor accounting and reporting
  • Cash management, including monitoring and forecasting of cash needs
  • Investment performance and related reporting

Specific responsibilities will include the following:

  • Coordinate and review financial reporting for the Infrastructure Program, including quarterly and year-end audited financial statements
  • Cash management and forecasting for the Infrastructure Program
  • Administration and review of investor capital calls and distributions for the Infrastructure Program
  • Provide support to the Infrastructure Program Investment team related to transaction and deal management
  • Developing internal policies and procedures specific to the Infrastructure Program, including valuation policies, etc.
  • Responsible for internal and external enquiries and any special requests for information relating to the Infrastructure Program
  • Provide support in the valuation of investments
  • Review of financial reporting for the private markets investment mandates
  • Coordination and preparation of audit documentation
  • Provide backup and support to other team members as required

Qualifications:

  • CA, CPA, CMA or CGA designation
  • Prior experience in infrastructure investment accounting/operations (min. 3 – 5 years)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to drill down and pay attention to detail
  • Extremely organized and process-oriented, with an ability to handle a variety of tasks, work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines
  • A team player with strong interpersonal and relationship skills; effective at building relationships across other business lines
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present information in a comprehensive and informative manner
  • Working knowledge of current and future accounting standards
  • Prior experience with Investran accounting system preferred

POSITION: Intermediate Analyst, Investor Operations
In this role, the Intermediate Analyst, Investor Operations will support the reporting, accounting and operations functions of the Investor Operations group for the global fund of funds program and separately managed accounts administered by Northleaf Capital Partners. The candidate will work closely with the financial reporting, tax, and systems groups within Investor Operations to provide support and information relating to investors’ financial, tax and other reports, as well as information relating to investments. The Intermediate Analyst, Investor Operations must also have a strong client service focus dedicated to ensuring best in class finance and operations support.

Accountabilities:
The Intermediate Analyst, Investor Operations will be a key contributor to the following functions:

  • Investment portfolio accounting and transaction management
  • Investor accounting
  • Financial reporting
  • Investment performance reporting

Specific responsibilities will include the following:

  • Prepare daily investment and investor transactions
  • Prepare investor capital call and distribution notices
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly valuation and performance reporting
  • Assist in generating quarterly financial reports
  • Assist in the completion and analysis of various monthly and quarterly customized investor reports (e.g., portfolio holdings, performance reports, etc.)
  • Perform ad hoc analysis of the investment portfolios
  • Assist in the preparation of audit documentation
  • Contribute to continuous process improvement and other operational changes
  • Provide backup and support to other team members

Qualifications:

  • Must have, or in progress of obtaining, an accounting designation (eg. CMA, CGA)
  • Prior experience in investment accounting or operations (minimum 2-3 years experience)
  • Prior experience with Investran accounting system preferred
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Strong Excel skills including prior experience with macros, vlookups and Pivot tables
  • Extremely organized and process-oriented, with an ability to handle a variety of tasks, work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare information in a comprehensive and informative manner
