Northleaf announces appointment of technology entrepreneur Michael Hyatt as a Senior Advisor to its venture capital and growth equity program

TORONTO, CANADA (January 26, 2022) – Northleaf Capital Partners (“Northleaf”), a global private markets investment firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Hyatt as a Senior Advisor supporting Northleaf’s venture capital and growth equity investment program. Michael will work alongside the Northleaf private equity and venture capital team to source and evaluate investment opportunities. As a serial entrepreneur and active investor, Michael’s knowledge and expertise in the venture capital space complements Northleaf’s longstanding investment approach.

Michael Hyatt is recognized as one of Canada’s leading tech entrepreneurs and an active investor in the technology community. He is the co-founder of BlueCat (in which Northleaf was an early investor and which was acquired by a private equity firm in 2017) and previously co-founded Dyadem (a software company that was sold to IHS in 2011). He currently serves as a Director of BlueCat. Michael is a regular business commentator on the CBC and the host of “Unplanned Business,” a podcast to help small businesses. He is a Founding Partner at the Rotman School of Management’s prestigious Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) and chairs the Hyatt Family Foundation focused on women’s health, critical hospital research and sponsorship of underprivileged minorities.
