Northleaf appoints private markets veteran James Cowan as Vice Chair, Global Private Markets, to support retail and wealth management distribution

TORONTO (June 5, 2023) – Northleaf Capital Partners (Northleaf), a leading global private markets investment firm, today announced that James Cowan has joined the firm as Vice Chair, Global Private Markets. In this new role, Cowan will support the distribution of Northleaf’s private markets strategies to retail, private wealth and asset management advisors and investors, a strategic growth priority for the firm.

Cowan joins Northleaf from Macquarie Group where he held senior leadership positions in Toronto and New York, most recently serving as CEO & President of the MIRA Infrastructure Global Solution funds. Cowan brings more than 20 years of experience in private markets investing, asset management and business development with institutional and private wealth investors.
