Northleaf Capital Partners is pleased to announce that Derek Chan, Faisal Farah and Scott Stephens have joined our firm and will be based in the Toronto, Canada office.
Derek joins us as Vice President, Tax and will be responsible for international tax planning and strategy, compliance and investment transaction support for Northleaf’s management company, investment funds and related corporate entities. Prior to joining Northleaf, Derek worked as a Director, Taxation at Brookfield Global Relocation Services Limited, where he oversaw the Canadian tax planning and reporting function of a global business with foreign operating subsidiaries. Derek received his Master of Accounting and Bachelors of Arts, Honours Accountancy Studies from the University of Waterloo and holds the CPA, CA designation.
Faisal joins us as an Analyst on the Private Equity Asset and Risk Management team, where he participates in all aspects of Northleaf’s portfolio management and monitoring functions for its private equity program. Previously, Faisal was an investment analyst at Export Development Canada, where he supported the transaction process for a portfolio specializing in Canadian and International direct and fund investments. Faisal received his BA Honours Economics from Carleton University and his MSc Finance and Economics from the University of Warwick.
Scott joins us as an Associate within our new corporate development function. Scott will participate in all aspects of Northleaf’s corporate development activities, including new product development, corporate strategy and planning, corporate communications, corporate finance and corporate operations. Prior to joining Northleaf, Scott was a technology consultant at Accenture, where he was involved in various engagements, with expertise in IT Strategy, Digital Strategy, Business Transformation and IT in M&A. Scott received his Bachelor of Commerce with a concentration in Information Systems from Carleton University.
