Robert Smith Joins Northleaf as Managing Director & Global Head of Institutional Business Development, in New York

TORONTO, CANADA (July 11, 2024) – Northleaf Capital Partners is pleased to announce that Robert Smith has joined our firm as Managing Director & Global Head of Institutional Business Development. In this new role, Robert will lead Northleaf’s global institutional business development activities and serve a member of the firm's Executive Committee. Based in New York, Robert will oversee the firm’s investor relationships with public, corporate and multi-employer pension plans, endowments, foundations, insurance companies and other financial institutions, family offices and investment consultants.

Prior to joining Northleaf, Robert was Co-Head of Client Service & Marketing at Bridgewater Associates, a global asset management firm, where his responsibilities included institutional business development, investor relations, commercial strategy and marketing. Earlier in his career, Robert worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington. Robert received a Bachelor of Arts from American University.
