The CVCA annual conference is the premier networking and professional development event for Canada’s private equity and venture capital industry. This year’s theme – Venture Capital and Private Equity: Outperforming the Markets – focused on the advantages of the private equity model in the current market environment.

This invitation-only event is designed to bring together the very best private equity and venture capital fund managers who operate in Asia with European institutional investors who have a strong interest in, or are already committed to, investing in Asia.

The Association Française des Investisseurs en Capital (AFIC) Annual Conference provides the opportunity for institutional investors to meet and discuss trends with professionals in the French private equity industry. The theme of this year’s conference was “Private Equity, an engine for growth in a sluggish economy,” and focused on topics such as the key to fundraising success in 2012, reviews of secondary funds and the secondary LBO cycle.

Partnerconnect brings together general partners, limited partners, institutional investors and other stakeholders to discuss a range of topics, including fundraising, middle market deals and financing, venture and growth equity and energy and infrastructure.

The Canadian Investment Institute event is designed for pension and benefit plan fiduciaries to learn about and discuss investment issues with leading-edge thinkers in Canada. Topics include the current economic outlook, alternative investments and private equity and infrastructure investing.

The SuperReturn Emerging Markets conference hosted 150 speakers, including 90 limited partners and fund-of-funds, who shared their experiences investing in the emerging markets and discussed where they are looking next.

The 4th annual SuperReturn U.S. conference brought together over 400 delegates, including more than 150 limited partners, to give their views on the latest developments in the global private equity industry. This year’s event included a new mid-market summit and a focus on fundraising.

The 2011 Aboriginal Private Equity Summit is a one-day event which brings together fund managers, Aboriginal businesses and Aboriginal limited partners. The summit, sponsored by Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business in partnership with Canada’s Venture Capital & Private Equity Association, provides First Nation, Inuit and Métis business leaders with a better understanding of the private equity market and the opportunities for financing and investment. It gives private equity managers and advisors knowledge of financing, investment and fundraising opportunities that exist in Aboriginal communities.

SuperReturn Latin America 2011 was launched in response to the global interest in Latin American private equity and the growth of a strong domestic investor base. More than 300 participants gathered to discuss potential fundraising opportunities and the growth of the region's markets. The conference included a focus on LPs, with panel discusses comparing a wide range of pan-regional funds.
